Dear Reader,
Important update on mandatory BIS Certification for manufacturers and importers of “Chain Pipe Wrenches.

Department For Promotion of Industry And Internal Trade (MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY) has prepared a Quality Control Order in respect of Chain Pipe Wrenches in consultation with BIS in order to bring it under mandatory BIS certification keeping in view the human safety and for ensuring the optimum quality of product. The QCO for above said product is attached below:

QCO notification for Chain Pipe Wrenches under IS 4123:1982 is as below:

The notification was released on 17th September 2024 and it will be implemented from:

17th March 2025 for Medium and Large enterprises (Annual turnover 50< crores).

17th June 2025 for Small enterprises (Annual Turnover between 5 to 50 crores).

17th September 2025 for Micro enterprises (Annual turnover of 5> crores).
