Important update on mandatory BIS Certification for manufacturers and importers of “Countersunk flat head screws (common head style) with type H or Type Z Cross Recess – Product Grade A part 2 Steel Screws of Property Class 8.8, Stainless Steel Screws and Non – Ferrous Metal Screws.

Department For Promotion of Industry And Internal Trade (MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY) has prepared a Quality Control Orders in respect of Countersunk flat head screws (common head style) with type H or Type Z Cross Recess – Product Grade A part 2 Steel Screws of Property Class 8.8, Stainless Steel Screws and Non – Ferrous Metal Screws in consultation with BIS in order to bring it under mandatory BIS certification keeping in view the human safety and for ensuring the optimum quality of product. The QCO for above said product is attached below:

QCO notification for Countersunk flat head screws (common head style) with type H or Type Z Cross Recess – Product Grade A part 2 Steel Screws of Property Class 8.8, Stainless Steel Screws and Non – Ferrous Metal Screws under 7485 (Part 2) : 2018/ISO 7046-2 : 2011 is as below:

The notification was released on 20th September 2024 and it will be implemented from

20th March 2025 for Medium and Large enterprises (Annual turnover 50< crores).

20th June 2025 for Small enterprises (Annual Turnover between 5 to 50 crores).

20th September 2025 for Micro enterprises (Annual turnover of 5> crores).
