Important update on mandatory BIS Certification for Indian manufacturers and importers of

• 1.) Cycle and Rickshaw Pneumatic Tyres
• 2.) Cycle - Rubber Tubes (Moulded or Jointed)

Department for Promotion of Industry & Internal Trade ( Ministry of Commerce and Industry ) has prepared a Quality Control Orders in respect of the above said products in consultation with BIS in order to bring it under mandatory BIS certification keeping in view the human safety and for ensuring the optimum quality of product. The QCO for these 2 products is attached below:

QCO Notification for Cycle and Rickshaw Pneumatic Tyres (IS 2414:2005) and Cycle - Rubber Tubes (Moulded or Jointed) (IS 2415:2015) is as follows:

The notification was released on 11th December 2023 and it will be implemented from:

11th June 2024 for Medium and Large enterprises (Annual turnover 50< crores).

11th September 2024 for Small enterprises (Annual Turnover between 5 to 50 crores).

11th December 2024 for Micro enterprises (Annual turnover of 5> crores).
