QCO Notification for EC Grade Aluminium Rod produced by Continuous Casting and Rolling

Dear Reader,
Important update on mandatory BIS Certification for manufacturers and importers of “EC Grade Aluminium Rod.

MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY has prepared a Quality Control Order in respect of EC Grade Aluminium Rod in consultation with BIS in order to bring it under mandatory BIS certification keeping in view the human safety and for ensuring the optimum quality of product. The QCO for above said product is attached below:

QCO notification for EC Grade Aluminium Rod under IS 5484:1997 is as below:

The notification was released on 25th October 2024 and it will be implemented from:

1st April 2025 for Medium and Large enterprises (Annual turnover 50< crores).

1st July 2025 for Small enterprises (Annual Turnover between 5 to 50 crores).

1st October 2025 for Micro enterprises (Annual turnover of 5> crores).
