Important update on mandatory BIS Certification for Indian manufacturers and importers of

• 1.) Gypsum Plaster Boards
• 2.) Gypsum Plaster Boards Glass Fibre Reinforced Gypsum Panels
• 3.) Gypsum Plaster Boards - Coated/ Laminated Gypsum Plaster Boards
• 4.) Gypsum Plaster Boards - Reinforced Gypsum Plaster Boards, Ceiling Tiles

Department for Promotion of Industry & Internal Trade ( Ministry of Commerce and Industry ) has prepared a Quality Control Orders in respect of the above said products in consultation with BIS in order to bring it under mandatory BIS certification keeping in view the human safety and for ensuring the optimum quality of product. The QCO for these 4 products is attached below:

QCO Notification for Gypsum Plaster Boards (IS 2095 (Part 1): 2011), Gypsum Plaster Boards Glass Fibre Reinforced Gypsum Panels (IS 17400: 2021), Gypsum Plaster Boards - Coated/ Laminated Gypsum Plaster Boards(IS 2095 (Part 2): 2022) and Gypsum Plaster Boards - Reinforced Gypsum Plaster Boards, Ceiling Tiles (IS 2095 (Part 3): 2022) is as follows:

The notification was released on 6th March 2024 and it will be implemented from:

6th September 2024 for Medium and Large enterprises (Annual turnover 50< crores).

6th December 2024 for Small enterprises (Annual Turnover between 5 to 50 crores).

6th March 2025 for Micro enterprises (Annual turnover of 5> crores).
