REGULATORY COMPLIANCE

This is to notify all manufacturers, suppliers, and stakeholders that the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has introduced the specification IS 17633: 2022 for Tables and Desks, effective since March 22, 2022. While this standard is not yet under mandatory certification, it is advisable to ensure compliance with the outlined specifications in anticipation of future requirements.

Manufacturers are strongly encouraged to consider obtaining voluntary BIS certification for their products, keeping in view that mandatory certification may be introduced in the near future. Aligning with this standard will help improve product quality, safety, and marketability.
