Important update on mandatory BIS Certification for manufacturers and importers of “Textiles — Polypropylene (PP)/High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Laminated Woven Sacks for Mail Sorting, Storage, Transport and Distribution” for Indian marketplace

Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals (MINISTRY OF CHEMICALS AND FERTILIZERS) has prepared a Quality Control Orders in respect of Textiles — Polypropylene (PP)/High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Laminated Woven Sacks for Mail Sorting, Storage, Transport and Distribution in consultation with BIS in order to bring it under mandatory BIS certification keeping in view the human safety and for ensuring the optimum quality of product. The QCO for above said product is attached below:

The notification was released on 4th June 2024 and it will be implemented from 6th September 2024.
