Important update on mandatory BIS Certification for manufacturers and importers of “Rubber Gaskets for Pressure Cookers- Specification” for Indian marketplace.

Department for Promotion of Industry & Internal Trade ( Ministry of Commerce and Industry ) has prepared a Quality Control Orders in respect of Rubber Gaskets for Pressure Cookers- Specification in consultation with BIS in order to bring it under mandatory BIS certification keeping in view the human safety and for ensuring the optimum quality of product. The QCO for above said product is attached below:

QCO Notification for Rubber Gaskets for Pressure Cookers- Specification under IS 7466: 1994 as below:

The notification was released on 14th December 2023 and it will be implemented from:

14th June 2024 for Medium and Large enterprises (Annual turnover 50< crores).

14th September 2024 for Small enterprises (Annual Turnover between 5 to 50 crores).

14th December 2024 for Micro enterprises (Annual turnover of 5> crores).
