Important update on mandatory BIS Certification for manufacturers and importers of “Telescopic Ball Bearing Drawer Slide” (or commonly known as channel for furniture products) for Indian marketplace.

Department for Promotion of Industry & Internal Trade ( Ministry of Commerce and Industry ) has prepared a Quality Control Orders in respect of Telescopic Ball Bearing Drawer Slide in consultation with BIS in order to bring it under mandatory BIS certification keeping in view the human safety and for ensuring the optimum quality of product. The QCO for Telescopic Ball Bearing Drawer Slide is attached below:

• QCO Notification forTelescopic Ball Bearing Drawer Slide under IS 17954: 2023 is as below:
• The notification was released on 2nd May 2024 and it will be implemented from:

2nd November 2024 for Medium and Large enterprises ( Annual turnover 50< crores ).

2nd February 2025 for Small enterprises ( Annual Turnover between 5 to 50 crores ).

1st May 2025 for Micro enterprises ( Annual turnover of 5> crores ).
