Dear Reader,
Important update on mandatory BIS Certification for manufacturers and importers of “Wrought aluminium and aluminium alloy plate for general engineering purposes.

MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY has prepared a Quality Control Order in respect of Wrought aluminium and aluminium alloy plate for general engineering purposes in consultation with BIS in order to bring it under mandatory BIS certification keeping in view the human safety and for ensuring the optimum quality of product. The QCO for above said product is attached below:

QCO notification for Wrought aluminium and aluminium alloy plate for general engineering purposes under IS 736:1986 is as below:

The notification was released on 25th October 2024 and it will be implemented from:

1st April 2025 for Medium and Large enterprises (Annual turnover 50< crores).

1st July 2025 for Small enterprises (Annual Turnover between 5 to 50 crores).

1st October 2025 for Micro enterprises (Annual turnover of 5> crores).
